Taiwan director Doze Niu accused of sexual assault
Acclaimed Taiwanese executive Doze Niu has been blamed for explicitly attacking a female group part taking a shot at his most recent film, "Pao Ma".
The supposed strike happened following a gathering at Niu's home in Taipei when different visitors had left, as per Taiwan's United Daily News.
A companion went with the lady to a healing facility after the supposed attack in November and a police report was recorded on Wednesday.
Niu, who showed up at a Taipei police headquarters for addressing on Friday, said he would participate with the examination.
Addressing journalists before the police headquarters, Niu stated: "I have confidence and expectation that there will be a reasonable preliminary.
"However, there is another open preliminary going on now and I have just been given a capital punishment."
Prior to taking a profound bow before the cameras, he included: "Nap Niu is dead."
Known for Taiwanese blockbusters, kid on-screen character turn executive Niu wound up celebrated when "Monga" won two Golden Horse Awards in 2010 and took TW$ 59.32 million (US$1.85 million) in the cinematic world on its opening week, positioning higher than Avatar on the movies graphs.
Taiwan has a dynamic film industry and hosts the Golden Horse Awards - named the Chinese dialect Oscars - however the #MeToo development, started by sensation rape claims against Hollywood tycoon Harvey Weinstein, has had little effect.
Niu recently hit the features in 2014, when he was fined and gave a suspended sentence for taking a Chinese cinematographer onto a maritime base in Taiwan without authorisation to scout film areas for his motion picture "Heaven in Service".
Taiwan has a restriction on Chinese nationals from entering military offices.
